...Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

Hi All,
O.K. It's officially HOT in Arizona. I got in my car the other day and it said it was 118 degrees outside. That's just crazy! Costa Rica is looking better than ever next month. It's time to make your last minute decision to come with us Aug. 4-11 to Pura Vida which means the good life, pure life and how can it not be with 75 degree weather, 2 yoga classes daily, organic cuisine, and three awe inspiring eco-adventures. It will truly be a life enhancing, transforming experience. Click here for more details and how to register http://www.marybruce.com/costa_rica_retreat.htm. Deadline for registering is this Friday July 13.
I've been staying cool by hanging out at my Dad's pool where the water is so refreshing, slathered in Alba's Botanical sunscreen so as not to burn. I make sure to stay hydrated by drinking enough purified water as well. Many of you have been asking about more eco friendly water bottles and the one that I use. Check out this link for more information, great products and to find out how you can make a difference. http://www.smartspacestv.net/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=102
At home I've changed out my light bulbs with CFL's (compact fluorescent), you know the curly ones, which burn longer and cooler and are more energy efficient. I changed my air filter, so my AC doesn't have to work so hard, and added some eucalyptus essential oil for a crisp, clean uplift. I also make an herbal ice tea blend of peppermint and hibiscus - a great summer cooler, along with adding local watermelon to my diet, sweet and refreshing!
My yoga practice is quieter during the summer when the ayurvedic dosha of Pitta, the element of fire is more active, I focus more on forward bends, twists, restoratives and cooling pranayama, followed by meditation to soothe the mind.
Summertime seems to move at a slower pace for many, leaving us with a little more leisure time. I've been catching up on some reading. Two books I'm recommending are The One by Kathy Freston, - It's about finding your soul mate but more than that how to have a heart filled relationship with yourself, which leads to fulfillment in all areas of your life. A true gem.
The second one is The Secret Power of Yoga by Nischala Joy Devi. It's a woman's intuitive, spiritual perspective on the Yoga Sutra's. In June I spent 5 days in Colorado with Yogarupa Rod Stryker studying the sutras, gleaning a deeper understanding of these timeless aphorisms. This book was the perfect companion.
I hope you are finding ways to stay cool and reflect peace. And remember, it's not too late to treat yourself to a rejuvenating getaway to Costa Rica! What are you doing with your one wild and precious life?
