11/11/11 Imagine The Potential!
"Nothing is real and nothing to get hung up about. Strawberry Fields Forever." - John Lennon
I am experiencing Autumnal Bliss! It's twilight as I enter Central Park West from Columbus and 77th at the juncture of Strawberry Fields, a living memorial to singer, songwriter, peace activist John Lennon. A soft breeze invites a magical cascade of fiery orange, gold and crimson leaves to twirl and swirl; a canopy of color above me, dancing at my feet. I drink in the mystery of the Divine as hidden behind the dusky grey clouds, the promise of the full moon heralds a new beginning as we move into The Age of Aquarius.
"We enter the Age of Aquarius on November 11, 2011. It will be a new time as the entire psyche is changing. You must purify the mind, body and soul to be real, innocent and sattvic (pure). Elevate yourself to be angelic. This age you will serve is an age of awareness and experience." -Yogi Bhajan
The Age of Aquarius is said to be a whole new dimension of potential and awareness; a time to "Be" and Experience as we move from "me" to "we."
I have just returned from immersing myself in the company of my teacher Yogarupa Rod Stryker at the Himalayan Institute, the home of his teacher and my grand guru, Pandit Rajmani. A transformational journey was had by one and all as we strip away the defenses that divide us, opening an portal to a deeper awareness and recognition of all that is good and divine. I truly love to spend time in the Pocono Mountains traipsing through the cathedral forests, communing with the saints and sages, reveling in Nature's profound beauty. Here at the Institute on this auspicious day of 11/11/11, the Akhanda Japa commences. This year long uninterrupted group meditation is an ancient practice in the Himalayan tradition for creating a spiritually empowered collective consciousness. It engenders individual healing and transformation while exerting a strong positive influence on the entire web of life as a preparation for the Kumbha Mela in January 2013.
Today, in the United States we also celebrate Veteran's Day. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 (11/11/1918), an armistice was signed that ended World War I. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world.
Let us remember our True Nature today and always as beings of splendor and light. Make space in your body, mind and heart to re-inhabit your Essence in a bigger more impactful way that honors the treaure within. Your playing small serves no one, so practice peace on purpose and be the change you wish to see!
Be Big, Be Bright, Be Beautiful, You Are!
All love, One Love,
Mary
