Happy Thanksgiving!
"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy. They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." – Marcel Proust
This past weekend it was my great joy to drive to Las Vegas and meet up with two of my dearest girlfriends, Gina and Sasha. Sasha just had a baby boy three months ago and we were celebrating the Miracle of new life. We spent hours together in the kitchen cooking up a storm, or I should say… Gina did the cooking, and Sasha and I took good notes! ; ) There is nothing more comforting than when a home is filled with the tantalizing aroma of lovingly prepared sustenance or the enchanting giggles of a healthy, happy baby. We shared and delighted in each other's company and the time sped by all too quickly. It is important to savor these ordinary, extraordinary moments of grace and count our blessings and to do so for others as well.
Sasha is an amazing Yoga teacher as well as a Sergeant in the LVPD. On Saturday she hosted a yoga fundraiser for IPOF (Injured Police Officers Fund). The theme for the event was Gratitude, in which gratitude unlocks the fullness of life and turns what we have into enough and more. She led us through a challenging sequence of postures and encouraged us to practice for something Bigger than ourselves. She said that gratitude is the fertilizer that makes the seed of your intentions grow. Whatever it is that you are looking to manifest in your life…when it is steeped in gratitude it’s like adding Miracle-Gro to it!
Albert Schweitzer said, “At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
In the Spirit of Thanksgiving I hold in high regard my family and friends, students and teachers. It is an honor and privilege to journey through this lifetime with you so that we may not only grow but also thrive! Thank you for shining your Light so brightly so that I may remember my own true heart and continue to blossom the garden of my soul.
Please check out my many offerings throughout the rest of the year and into 2011. It is said that gratitude is the memory of the heart. Let’s make some memories!
Bountiful Blessings of Love to you,
Mary
